Shrimp, crayfish, and crabs need minerals and trace elements to build their new carapaces and to go through the molting process without harm. Minerals and trace elements are also indispensable for growth, egg production and egg quality, blood formation, and a well-functioning immune system, and their importance cannot be overestimated. Therefore, it makes perfect sense to supplement crustaceans with Natureholic Mineralfeed two to three times a week, providing them with targeted minerals and high-quality protein.

Not only shrimp, crayfish, and crabs rely on a regular supply of minerals; snails also need minerals and trace elements for their metabolism, immune system, egg formation, and especially for building their shells. Unlike shrimp, snails can absorb these not only from food but also from water. They particularly need an extra portion of minerals and trace elements in their food when they live in an aquarium where the pH is below 7 and the general hardness is below 10, for example, in a typical soft water aquarium for bee shrimp or Taiwan shrimp.

Snails also have a very difficult time in soil tanks, as the soil continuously breaks down the carbonate compounds they need. In particular, the high calcium content of Mineralfeed supports snails in building their shells.

The gentle cold-pressing process we use in production protects the nutrients and minerals and preserves them almost completely during the manufacturing process. As Darwin once said: Anything that goes against nature will not last in the long run!

The insects and crustaceans included as protein sources not only ensure high acceptance, but also provide nutritionally valuable protein and the molting hormone ecdysone, as well as important cholesterol, which shrimp need for a smooth molt.

To specifically prevent deficiency symptoms, we have incorporated our vitamin mix: Vitamin D3 for the calcium metabolism of shrimp, as important support during molting; Vitamin A for the development of the hypodermis and eggs, to support the immune system, and especially as an antioxidant to protect against reactive molecules and bacteria; and Vitamin C, which is also an important antioxidant and is needed for a smooth molt.

Our proven mineral mix includes iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), and manganese (Mn), which are needed as trace elements by shrimp for the formation of a variety of important enzymes, thereby ensuring a smooth molt. In addition, trace elements are necessary for the formation of various hormones such as the growth hormone ecdysone and for protein production, thus supporting shrimp in normal growth.

Feeding recommendation: Feed 2-3 times a week as much as the animals consume in a few minutes. Feed sparingly; usually, one 5mm pad is sufficient for 15-25 shrimp.
